Solemn Preparation for the Supper
When we are about to go on a date or some outing with our "special someone", we will spend much time preparing our appearance: our clothing, our hair, our shoes, our smell. We want everything to be "just right" for our meeting with that person. In 1 Corinthians 11:28, the Apostle Paul teaches that a similar kind of care must be taken with our hearts before we meet our Savior during the Lord's Supper. As we look at Paul's command regarding self-examination, how should we solemnly prepare our hearts for the Lord's Supper? What can we do to assure we are receiving the supper in a worthy manner?
